Louise Banfield

Louise tentatively introduced Pilates to North Devon in 1998. It has proved a resounding success leading to the opening of the area's first-ever Pilates Studio. Louise has been in the Health and Fitness Industry for many years. Starting as a Physical Training Instructor in the Armed Forces, she went on to complete a Diploma in fitness Training and Sports Therapy. After suffering from chronic back pain herself, Louise became very interested in rehabilitation. This eventually led her into the increasingly popular world of Pilates traininginitially with Body Control Pilates Academy.

Louise was a senior teacher trainer and assessor for the Body Control Pilates Academy London, training new students nationally and internationally. She also presents workshops to medical professionals.

Paul Banfield

Paul is a qualified sports therapist with a background in rugby, judo and contact sports. He is a qualified RFU coach and is extensively involved in both senior and junior rugby teams. Through Louise, his wife, he has discovered how Pilates can help to maintain fitness levels and more importantly prevent injuries which has helped him to continue to play rugby. Paul is a qualified Body Control Pilates teacher, Level 4 Back Care practitioner and runs the 'Back4Good'® programme.

Both Paul and Louiseare specialists in the pilates method, having completed comprehansive training courses in matwork and studio equipment with The Body ControlPilates Association and Polestar Pilates.
